What Are Missing Conversions?
A missing conversion occurs when a publisher’s referred user completes a qualifying action — a purchase, sign-up, or install — but the conversion doesn’t appear in the publisher’s dashboard reporting.
Several things can cause this. The offer’s tracking type matters: real-time tracking records conversions immediately, while manual tracking uploads them on a specific schedule, meaning a conversion may appear delayed rather than missing. Cookie issues — such as a user switching devices between click and purchase, or a browser blocking cookies — can also mean the tracking chain is broken before the conversion is recorded.
Some offers also have device restrictions, where purchases made on desktop or mobile aren’t eligible for tracking under that specific offer’s terms. A conversion from an unsupported device type would not appear in the dashboard, even if the purchase genuinely happened through a publisher’s link.
