How to Start Affiliate Marketing
Find Products and Brands Related to Your Niche
The selected products need to be aligned with your niche and audience interests, providing you with more inspiration for creating engaging content, giving the audience valuable information and driving more opportunities to convert sales.
The search approach is highly effective when used with popular keywords. It helps you understand market trends and customer preferences and instils confidence in your product selection for your audience.
Here are three areas where you can search using keywords related to your niche.
According to SEO.ai, an average individual makes 3 to 4 searches daily on Google. When users search for valuable information relatable to their needs, Google provides fast and accurate search results based on the algorithm.
Let’s take travel as your niche example. We recommend putting in two to three words that are as specific as possible. For example, let’s say you want to create content about budget travel. The drop-down will show a list of suggested terms to consider.
Enter the term you want to analyse, and Google will show you accurate results by ranking. You can filter the results based on the suggested criteria at the top of the results.
In the results, you will see various websites and blog articles that will give you ideas on what content to create, such as tips and tricks, listicles, reviews, and comparisons.
Take your time to browse through them for inspiration.
There are also videos if you want to create short-form and long-form videos for various platforms.
You can also look through the “Related Searches” of other terms users search for on Google and find out what users are asking about browsing through the most frequently asked questions in the “People also ask” section.
We suggest compiling a list of searched keywords with selected niche products to promote so it is easier for you to keep track of your searches.
Searching for products is an ongoing process, but once you master it, you will be able to create targeted, engaging content for your followers.
In Malaysia, 60% of Internet users are weekly users who purchase at least one product every week. They often browse through the e-commerce sites based on their preferences before purchasing.
Let’s continue to use “budget travel” as an example. When you search for “budget travel” on Google, you will see recognisable e-commerce sites on the search results page.
If you are familiar with the brand, you can also visit its e-commerce site without going through Google.
So let’s visit one of the popular travel booking platforms.
On most sites, there will be a search bar where you can key in the terms you want to look for. You can scroll down the page to view travellers’ favourite choices, popular destinations, and attractive promotions.
To start searching for products, key in the terms on the Search bar.
For example, I want to search for popular attractions in Japan. After I key in the terms on the Search Bar, I will see various travel products to recommend to my followers.
Click on any product to view more details such as description, price and reviews.
Compile a list of searched keywords. In the next lesson, we will explain what criteria to look out for when selecting products. For now, let’s continue with the final platform, which is social media.
Social media platforms have a search feature. You can use it to get search results on particular pages (such as For You) by keying in the specific niche products you are looking for.
You can also look for content based on popular hashtags.
Let’s take TikTok as an example of a social media platform for looking for niche products.
Imagine you are looking for people posting travel content related to the products they recommended. So you can put “Travel” in the Search Bar or select the “Travel” filter if it is already available on your For You page.
Once you put it into your Search, you will find a wide range of travel-related TikTok videos that might be your next travel product to promote on your platforms.
