Your website is ready, and you’re writing some really good articles about reviews of products, pop culture, and more. But now, you’ve got a bigger challenge: how do you get traffic to your website? To clearly understand this, it’s important to be aware of not just getting traffic, but targeted traffic. There are 3 methods of getting traffic that matters to your site.
Buy traffic
With PPC ads, you can buy ads on Google, or other search engines with pay-per-click modes of payment. This is easy to start with, and essential since you need to have some traction to your site. From here, all you have to do is create an ad or ads that are relevant to whatever you’re writing, or whatever affiliate program you’re promoting.
This will take some time, energy, persistence, research, and of course money! But be patient, as you’ll learn a lot of ways to optimize the type of traffic you get from this model.
However, a note of caution: beware of the sort of bids you make, and ensure they do not break the affiliate program’s rules. Some advertisers will not appreciate you bidding on their keywords.
Guest posting
Now that you’ve got some traction, it’s time to build some legs around the web. Start by submitting a few original articles on your opinions on certain things to websites that accept guest posting. It’s important to note that you should pay very careful attention when you’re writing these articles, as they should sound as organic as possible – fitting the site on which you are posting these articles.
Link building will help you create more backlinks around the web, thus also adding more SEO juice to your site.
Make use of your readers
Don’t let any of your readers bounce out after they read your article just like that. Ensure you have a mechanism of sorts to capture their opt-in to give you their emails, or contact details. This way, you’ll be able to pull them back in with more interesting content.
