On Involve Asia, some offers use Geo-Lock to restrict access to users from specific countries — clicks from outside the allowed region will land on an error page rather than the advertiser’s site.

What Is Click Origin Country?

Click origin country is the country recorded at the moment a user clicks an affiliate link, based on their IP address. It tells the platform where the click came from geographically, separate from where the offer is targeted or where the advertiser operates.

This matters because many affiliate offers are geo-restricted — they’re only valid for customers in a specific market. If a publisher’s audience includes users from outside the offer’s allowed region, those clicks may not result in a valid conversion, even if the user tries to complete a purchase.

Understanding the click origin country helps publishers assess whether their audience geography matches the offers they’re promoting, and whether unexpected drops in conversion rate might be explained by out-of-region traffic.

Involve Asia uses a Geo-Lock system for offers that require traffic from a specific country. For example, a Shopee Singapore offer may be restricted to users in Singapore only. If a user from India clicks the link, they may land on an error page stating the offer is not available in their country, and no conversion is recorded.

Publishers can see tracking type and geo-lock information on each offer’s page, helping them confirm whether their audience’s location is compatible with the offer before promoting it. Filtering the Advertiser Directory by campaign country is the easiest first step to match offers to the right audience geography.
