Affiliate ID
TL;DR — An Affiliate ID is the unique identifier assigned to a publisher and embedded into every tracking link they generate. It’s what tells the platform which publisher sent a click, allowing conversions to be attributed correctly and commission to be paid to the right person. On Involve Asia, the Affiliate ID is stored as a browser cookie when a user clicks a tracking link, so if they complete a purchase, the system can match the sale back to the publisher who drove it.
What Is an Affiliate ID?
An Affiliate ID is a unique code that identifies a specific publisher within an affiliate platform’s system. Every publisher has their own Affiliate ID, and it is automatically included in every tracking link they generate — whether through the Promote button on an offer page or via the Deeplink Generator.
When a user clicks a tracking link, the Affiliate ID is stored in a browser cookie on their device. This cookie stays active for the duration of the offer’s cookie window. If the user completes a qualifying purchase or action during that window, the platform reads the cookie, identifies the Affiliate ID, and attributes the conversion to the corresponding publisher for commission.
Without an Affiliate ID embedded in the link, there is nothing to identify who sent the traffic. Sharing a regular product URL rather than a generated tracking link means any resulting purchases cannot be attributed to the publisher, and no commission is earned.
Affiliate ID on Involve Asia
On Involve Asia, every tracking link generated through the dashboard contains the publisher’s Affiliate ID as part of the URL structure — typically formatted as part of the invol.co shortened link. When a visitor clicks the link, the ID is stored in their browser cookies for the duration of the offer’s cookie period.
If the visitor then makes a purchase, the system identifies the Affiliate ID in the cookie, matches it to the publisher, and records the conversion against their account. A visitor can also browse to a different product within the same advertiser’s site after clicking, and if they purchase that product within the cookie window, the commission is still attributed to the same publisher.
