Prohibited Promotion Methods

TL;DRProhibited promotion methods are the specific ways an advertiser does not allow their offer to be promoted. Using a prohibited method — even if it works well on other offers — can result in rejected conversions, being blocked from the offer, or account suspension. On Involve Asia, every offer lists its allowed and prohibited promotion methods on the offer page, and publishers must check these before promoting.

What Are Prohibited Promotion Methods?

Prohibited promotion methods are channels or techniques an advertiser has explicitly excluded from their affiliate program. While an offer’s T&Cs set the general rules, the promotion methods section goes further — specifying exactly how a publisher is and isn’t allowed to drive traffic to that offer.

Common prohibited methods across affiliate offers include brand bidding (running paid search ads using the advertiser’s own brand name), adult or gambling content, misleading ad copy that doesn’t accurately represent the product, incentivised clicks where users are paid just to click, and, in some cases, pop-ups, sub-affiliates, or email to purchased lists.

What’s prohibited on one offer may be allowed on another. A publisher using email marketing or push notifications should always verify whether the specific offer permits those methods, rather than assuming that what worked on a previous offer applies here too.

Prohibited Promotion Methods on Involve Asia

On Involve Asia, every offer page includes an Available Promotion Methods section that shows which methods are permitted and which are not allowed for that offer. Platform-wide, adult and pornographic content, gambling content, and brand bidding without explicit advertiser permission are prohibited across all offers, regardless of what individual T&Cs say.

Publishers caught using a prohibited method risk having their conversions rejected and their access to the offer removed. Repeated or serious violations can lead to account suspension and forfeiture of accumulated commissions. The safest approach is to check the Available Promotion Methods section on every offer page before creating content or running campaigns.
