Real-Time Commission Tracking
TL;DR — Real-time commission tracking means clicks and conversions are recorded and visible in a publisher’s dashboard as soon as they happen, with no scheduled upload delay. It’s the faster of the two tracking types available on affiliate offers — the other being manual tracking, where conversions appear on a set schedule. On Involve Asia, offers with real-time tracking show new conversions in the Conversion Report as soon as a purchase is made, typically within 10 to 30 minutes.
What Is Real-Time Commission Tracking?
Real-time commission tracking is a method of recording affiliate conversions the moment they happen, passing that data immediately from the advertiser’s platform back to the affiliate platform and into the publisher’s dashboard. There is no batch upload or scheduled delay — when a referred customer completes a qualifying purchase, the conversion appears in reporting almost instantly.
This is the most common tracking type for e-commerce offers, where transactions happen continuously throughout the day, and publishers benefit from seeing results as they come in. It allows publishers to monitor the performance of a campaign in close to real time, spotting what’s working and adjusting quickly without having to wait days for data to appear.
Real-time tracking is made possible through a combination of tracking links, browser cookies, and in some cases, postback URLs — all of which pass conversion data back to the platform the moment the qualifying action is completed.
Real-Time Tracking on Involve Asia
On Involve Asia, offers with real-time tracking are labelled as such on the offer’s description page alongside the track type information. Conversions from these offers appear in the publisher’s Conversion Report as soon as a purchase is made. All impressions and clicks are tracked in real-time, though leads or sales may sometimes take up to 10 to 30 minutes before appearing in the statistics report.
Publishers who don’t see a conversion appear immediately after a real-time tracked purchase should wait 30 minutes before investigating further. If a conversion still hasn’t appeared after that window, it’s worth checking the offer’s track type — and if it is confirmed as real-time, submitting a missing conversion report with the Order ID, purchase date, and sale amount.
